Room 36 at John L. Hensey Elementary School is a 2nd and 3rd grade Special Education classroom providing Resource and Instructional services to students with IEPs. We work together with each student's general education classroom teacher to provide services without disrupting daily specials, recess, or any important classroom activities. Depending on the IEP we write together each spring, your student may receive a variety of services including pullout instructional or resource support time in Room 36, a paraprofessional working with a student in either classroom, or a 1:1 assistant to assist with functional behavior. Regardless of the type of service your student receives, we will work to meet their academic and behavioral needs in all school settings.
